Blue Scarab is a character created by Steve Ditko and Gary Friedrich. A master martial artist and a brilliant scientist who made a fortune patenting and selling his inventions through his company, Kord Industries. He found the alien talisman known as the Blue Beetle, but couldn't get it to work. Instead, he decided to fight crime and the forces of evil by fashioning a superhero persona around the Blue Beetle, using his martial arts skills, his genius-level intellect, and a flashbang gun that blinds and paralyzes his opponents.
